Representatives from Australia, FSM, Japan, Kiribati, Nauru and the US at the East Micronesia Cable Project Executive Board meeting
Representatives from Australia, Federated States of Micronesia, Japan, Kiribati, Nauru and the United States recently met to discuss momentum of the East Micronesia Cable project, which will deliver internet connectivity via submarine cable for the first time in Nauru, Tarawa in Kiribati and Kosrae in FSM.
The project continues to make great progress, with the marine survey of the cable route completed, cable manufacture and cable landing stations design underway, and scoping of civil works at all four cable landing sites finalised.
The six-country collaboration highlights the shared commitment to maximising the region’s connectivity to support long term social development and economic prosperity.
The project remains on track to be delivered by December 2025.
